Lyrics

Victory leaves a crown untouched and a kingdom searching for worth.

The battle sleeps beneath the rain,
The earth still bears the victor’s stain.
The broken banners line the ground,
Where songs of triumph make no sound.

The ancient hall stands cold and wide,
Where kings were crowned and kingdoms died.
The crown still waits upon the stone,
Yet none will claim the empty throne.

The war was won, the price was paid,
Too many names will never fade.
They fought for peace, they fought for home,
Yet none will face the throne alone.

Who will wear the crown tonight?
Who will bear its crushing might?
Who will answer for the slain?
Who will rule through grief and pain?

Every crown demands its own,
Every king must stand alone.
All have seen the blood-stained stone,
So none will claim the Empty Throne.

One warrior turns his eyes away,
One sees the friends he lost that day.
One hears the widows call their names,
One still can smell the dying flames.

The gold has lost its former glow,
For every jewel reflects their woe.
A kingdom bought with blood and bone
Has left its victors scared of stone.

They dreamed of crowns when they were young,
When tales of noble kings were sung.
But glory fades when truth is known,
And heavier still becomes the throne.

Who will wear the crown tonight?
Who will bear its crushing might?
Who will answer for the slain?
Who will rule through grief and pain?

Every crown demands its own,
Every king must stand alone.
All have seen the blood-stained stone,
So none will claim the Empty Throne.

If all refuse, the realm will fall,
And war will rise beyond the wall.
If one accepts, then one must bear
The grief of every soul in prayer.

For crowns demand what few can bring:
The man must die to make the king.
Those who know what crowns have sown
Are those who fear the Empty Throne.

Who will wear the crown tonight?
Who will lead us toward the light?
Who will answer for the slain?
Who will carry all their pain?

Not for glory, gold, or fame,
Not to carve a deathless name.
But for those who have no throne,
One must rise and stand alone.

One breath echoes through the hall,
One shadow crosses down the wall.
One final step on ancient stone…
Toward the crown.
Toward the throne.
