Ride Through Fire

The western towers burned that night
Red flames consumed the fading light
A royal seal was in my hand
“Ride east and save our dying land”

No sleep until the king has read
Or thousands more will soon lie dead
Ride through the dark, ride through the rain
Or all our hope is lost in vain

I crossed the plains of broken steel
Where smoke concealed what none could feel
The bridges fell behind my trail
Still I rode through fire and hail

Each village cried, “Don’t ride that way!”
“No man survives beyond today!”
But every mile beneath the sun
Brought me closer to my run

Ride through fire!
Ride through flame!
Carry hope in Heaven’s name!
Ride through darkness!
Ride through fear!
The break of dawn is drawing near!

Hold the line!
Stand your ground!
Don’t let kingdoms crumble down!
Ride through fire!
Ride tonight!
One man’s courage ends the fight!

The mountain winds began to rise
Snow hid the stars before my eyes
Dark riders thundered at my back
Like hunting wolves upon my track

My faithful horse was bruised and worn
Yet carried me toward the morn
Though every step brought greater pain
We would not let this journey fail

At dawn I reached the eastern gate
I’d won the race against my fate
The king unsealed the message fast
Before the fragile moment passed

One single page, one final plea
Kept kingdoms from their tragedy
One fearless ride through ash and flame
Forever changed the kingdom’s fate

Ride through fire!
Ride through flame!
Carry hope in Heaven’s name!
Ride through darkness!
Ride through fear!
The break of dawn is drawing near!

Hold the line!
Stand your ground!
Don’t let kingdoms crumble down!
Ride through fire!
Ride tonight!
One man’s courage ends the fight!

Ride through fire!
Ride through flame!
Let the world remember your name!
Ride forever!
Ride as one!
Until the rising of the sun!

Through the ashes!
Through the storm!
Hope is stronger than the sword!
Ride through fire!
Ride tonight!
One brave rider saved us all!
