Born from Ashes · Track 01
The Festival of Silver Banners
01 / Eleven stories
Lyrics
The opening chapter of Born from Ashes.
I left the fields at morning light,
With ribbons woven pure and white,
The village road was lined with gold,
And tales the wandering minstrels told.
The banners danced above the square,
Sweet cider scented summer air,
I heard the laughter, drums, and song,
And felt that I was where I belonged.
A thousand colors filled my eyes,
Like waking from a dream…
For the first time in my life,
I saw what legends mean.
Raise the silver banners high!
Let the stars ignite the sky!
Hear the thunder of the knights,
Shining armor, blazing light!
Oh, tonight my spirit flies,
Beyond the hills where destiny lies!
In a world I’ve never known,
I have found my heart’s new home!
The champions rode in gleaming steel,
The earth itself began to reel,
Their lances struck with flashes bright,
Like falling stars in broad daylight.
A prince stepped through the cheering crowd,
His noble bearing calm and proud,
He smiled and bowed his head to me,
And time stood still eternally.
The flutes were singing ancient tunes,
The fires burned so bright,
And every story I’d been told
Was standing there tonight.
Raise the silver banners high!
Let the stars ignite the sky!
Hear the thunder of the knights,
Shining armor, blazing light!
Oh, tonight my spirit flies,
Beyond the hills where destiny lies!
In a world I’ve never known,
I have found my heart’s new home!
When the dawn lights up the hills,
Every dream is standing still.
What began with morning's light,
Will forever burn so bright.
Raise the silver banners high!
Let them blaze across the sky!
Hear the thunder, hear them call,
Tonight we stand above it all!
Raise them higher! Never fall!
Every heart becomes one soul!
Though tomorrow roads divide,
This night will always be alive!
Raise the silver banners high!
Raise them high!
Raise them high!
